Canepa Quarries, Groppi district
In 1931 the Canepa firm took over the industrial structures in the Cassan-Groppi district, consisting of a kiln plant with two firing kilns and two warehouse buildings.
The coal-fired kiln and the remains of the two buildings can be seen along provincial road 205 to Grognardo. The quarry face lies above the industrial plant.
The site is municipal property. The whole area with its mining plant was donated by its owner, Mr Mauro Ivaldi, to the Municipality of Visone in 2021, to form the first true industrial-archaeological nucleus of the Ecomuseum.

Villeto Quarries
Borgo Villeto is the quarter of Visone at the beginning of provincial road SP 205 to Grognardo. It is built directly on former limestone quarries. Glimpses of quarry faces and extraction marks can be seen.
Canepa and Zanoletti Quarries
The area of the Canepa and Zanoletti Quarries lies south-west of the village of Visone. It is the largest industrial-archaeological site, with disused industrial plant dating from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Coal-fired kilns of late nineteenth-century origin and plants for grinding and packaging lime from the 1950s can be seen.
This site is privately owned and cannot currently be visited.
Barì Quarry in the Scaragli district
Owned by the Canepa firm since 1955, from the 1960s onwards it was worked by the “room and pillar” method, creating its striking underground formation.
For safety reasons the quarries have been filled in and can no longer be visited. The quarry face is still visible from the Squillè road.
