Documentary heritage

The Municipal Historical Archive of Visone was recently reorganised and inventoried between 2019 and 2023.

It holds the following fonds:

• Old section, comprising papers up to 1929, the year in which the Municipality was suppressed and merged with Acqui Terme. Because of this merger, most of the older papers have unfortunately been lost.
• Modern section, comprising papers from 1949, the year in which the Municipality was re-established as an autonomous local authority.
• Aggregated fonds: at present, the fonds produced by other public or private bodies held in the Municipal Historical Archive are: Primary Schools Fond (19th-20th centuries), Unione Sportiva Visonese Fond (20th century), Pro Loco Fond (20th century), Jazz Club Fond (20th century), Parish Nursery School Fond (21st century, not open to public consultation).
• Associazione Vallate Visone e Caramagna Fond (20th century).

The Historical Archive promotes study, research and historical outreach initiatives, and the ongoing collection and cataloguing of all further documentary and audiovisual material available from public or private bodies.
